Our box this week from Two Small Farms contained Agretti, and if you remember from last year, this is one of my favorites. It is a strange vegetable, but very tasty in a salty, ocean sort of way. And again, I scored more than one bunch, so we get to have it twice this week!
The rest of our box contained Leeks, Red Orach, Romaine Lettuce, Red and White Mixed Turnips, Curly Parsley, Strawberries and Sugar Snap Peas. I am not a big fan of curly parsley, so I tossed that into my freezer bag of greens for the next time I make stock. The strawberries were consumed on day one, and the sugar snap peas are a great snack with ranch dressing. Here is my plan for the rest of the week:
Monday: Leftover grilled chicken, roasted turnips and leeks, salad with avocado/buttermilk dressing
Tuesday: Agretti spaghetti, salad, bread
Wednesday: Frozen surprise (in cleaning out the freezer this weekend I discovered a “hot dish” that needs to be eaten), sauteed orach
Thursday: Teriyaki salmon, soba with agretti and edamame, salad or sugar snap peas
Friday: TGIF block party
