We declined a Fifth Crow Farms CSA vegetable box last week, since we were away to the East visiting colleges. But, never fear, there are plenty of vegetables in our fridge. I found these items while sorting through the bins this weekend: Leeks, Green Garlic, Spring Onions, Fennel, Kale, Turnips with greens, Cabbage, and Garlic Chives.
Here is my menu plan for the week of April 16:
Sunday: Fred’s Steak, roasted broccoli, roasted potatoes (in duck fat!), fresh peas in butter, birthday cake and lemon pudding (birthday dinner #1)
Tuesday: Soup and grilled cheese (plus this Three Greens Gratin) (birthday dinner #2)
Wednesday: Roast leg of lamb, butter braised spring onions with garlic chives, roast turnips
Friday: Pizza night – Foolproof Pan Pizza
